Clothes shopping : Platinum Mall, Chatuchak weekend market if you have plenty of time. Watch your wallet.

Bar : a dime a dozen. After one beer, it’s all the same. Watch your wallet.

Special Bar : The King Castle, the Ladyboy bar in Patphong, the red light district. Can be scary if you don’t go with a Thai handler, um, mediator. Really watch your wallet.

Theatre - Pratavadi Theatre by the river. Modern Thai.

“We want to see the floating market. Where do we go?”

Jekky : Don Wai floating market in Nakornpathom. Many things to do in the area include boat tours, visit fruit orchards, The Rose Garden(an oasis!), ancient style homes, and bike riding to wax museum and a zoo.

Getting there (from N6)
Take bus 28 from front of Police Station Bang Sue going south. Get off at Central Pinklao (map - look carefully. The reference point is Kaosan Road at the bottom of map.) Then look for a commuter van. Scribble this down on a piece of paper “ตลาดน้ำดอนหวาย”. Someone should help you to get to the right van. It’s a 50THB fare.

“I’m sick. whine. Where’s a good hospital with English speaking doctors? whine”

Jekky : Rama Clinic (Rama-Tib-bo-dee) is great. Cheap and staffed with excellent doctors. It is also not far, located near the Victory Monument.

My favorite part of Thailand was Phanom Rong. This collection of Ruins and active temples is pretty spectacular. Most of the tourists I saw were Thai school children. Great place to rent a motorbike and just explore the country side.

The snorkeling in Ko Tao was wonderful as well.

TH : Favorite Places for Sunset in Bkk by Marc Hastenteufel, Germany

For sunset and a beer i like to be at the Chao Phraya River in the old part of Bangkok.

You can feed a few fish at the Thewet Express Boat Pier and later have a beer right there.

If you sit in the front you sit right over the water and can continue to feed the fish.

Further down the river there is the Santichai Prakan park and the Phra Sumen Fort. There is usually something going on. A lot of older woman do their Evening Aerobic over there. Foreigners and locals juggle and play music and i did listen to countless concerts over there for free. There is a free public toilet and one old lady does the best fruit shakes in bkk to take to the water front.

The Fort at night

If you want that certain sun downer – opposite of the park are 2 small shops that sell ice cold beer – than simply walk on the left site of the park straight to the river and turn left. Keep walking till you find a free bench and enjoy!

Thailand :

Besides N6 itself my favorite thing in Thailand was…Naiharn Beach. If you end up in Phuket which I don’t recommend overall. This beach is a saving grace from the over-touristed island. There is not a McD’s or 7-11 in sight. The drive up is nice espescially if you take the long way and pass through Promtep cape at the southernmost point of the island. You’ll continue up the west cost a eventually follow nice canal that flows right into the ocean at the point where the local children play in a shallow pool. This give a unique layout to the beach. There are just a couple resorts nestled off to the north but no imposing commercialism. There is a nice little makeshift restaurant at the south end of the beach, serving standard but tasty Thai fare at good prices for a beach locale. The water is clear and the beach itself more serene and beautiful that any other on Phuket (IMO). Enjoy.

San Diego :

La Jolla Cove. Pure sex except for the smell of sea lion and bird poop.
